La Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) is responsible for cataloguing and maintaining the graves of soldiers from the military forces of the Commonwealth who fell in the two world wars.

A project has been launched to photograph the graves and memorials of all those who fell from 1914 to the present day. The project is led by the British War Memorial Project in collaboration with the CWGC and the Ministry of Defence.
