MAGRITTE Ren\u00e9 Fran\u00e7ois Ghislain, <\/strong>surrealist painter was born in Lessines on 21\/11\/1898, son of\u00a0MAGRITTE<\/strong>\u00a0L\u00e9opold Fran\u00e7ois Ghislain and Adeline Isabelle R\u00e9gina BERTINCHAMPS<\/strong>. He is the eldest of three children.\u00a0<\/span>
\nFrom 1916 to 1920<\/strong>He attended the Acad\u00e9mie des Beaux-Arts in Brussels and developed his early research in the field of abstraction.\u00a0In 1922<\/strong>Magritte marries Georgette BERGER<\/strong>. The couple settled in Laeken and his wife became his main model. He then turned to Surrealism and in 1929,<\/strong> it is close to Salvador Dali<\/a>.\u00a0In 1933<\/strong>Magritte began his first research in the field of the object and revised his conception of painting as a form of interrogation of language.\u00a0In 1943<\/strong>As a reaction to the German Occupation, he began an impressionist period<\/strong> and joined the Communist Party. In particular, he illustrated \"\u00a0The Songs of Moldanor by Lautr\u00e9amont\u00a0<\/a>\"published in 1948 https:\/\/www.poetes.com\/textes\/lau_mal.pdf<\/a> and begins its so-called \"Cow\u00a0<\/strong>In 1964<\/strong>Although most of his work was destined for Belgian clients, Magritte's contacts and extensive travels enabled him to exhibit his work in Europe and America, where it gained international renown. He died on 15\/08\/1967<\/strong> in Schaerbeek, at 97, rue des Mimosas. His wife followed him in 1986.<\/span><\/p>\n
