This seigneurial origin imposed a specific territorial constitution and internal organisation on the institution.<br \/>\nIts territory comprised two distinct parts:<br \/>\n1. parishes <strong>of Warneton, Kemmel and Wulvergem<\/strong><br \/>\n2. nine enclaves scattered throughout the neighbouring castellanies; the reorganisation of 1771 created a single block made up of the three parishes mentioned above plus the neighbouring villages of <strong>Dranouter and Nieuwkerke<\/strong>.<br \/>\nAdministratively, this group of territories did not constitute a constituency, but a group of eight constituencies (five in 1771) administered by autonomous local colleges:<br \/>\n1. <b>The town of Warneton<\/b>administered by a solicitor, seven aldermen, seven councillors, a treasurer, a bailiff and a messenger.<br \/>\n2. <b>The fairground parish<\/b>also known as Warneton-dehors or Sept Gildes, comprising the territory of the parish outside the town; managed by seven aldermen, fourteen pointers and a collector. The town and the parish were united in 1605.<br \/>\n3. <b>The parishes<\/b>branches and territories forming the remainder of the ch\u00e2tellenie.<br \/>\nThe collection was transferred by the State Archives in Bruges in 1970, with the exception of around one hundred items relating to Dranouter, Kemmel, Nieuwkerke, Wijtschate and Wulvergem.
