Er werd een opera opgevoerd in 5 bedrijven \"La muette de Portici de <a href=\"http:\/\/www.musicologie.org\/Biographies\/auber_daniel.html\">Daniel Esprit Fran\u00e7ois <strong>AUBERT<\/strong><\/a> (1782-1871), op de woorden van <a href=\"http:\/\/marthe-peyroux2.azurewebsites.net\/\/Scribe.htm\">Eug\u00e8ne <strong>SCRIBE<\/strong><\/a> (1791-1861) en <a href=\"https:\/\/data.bnf.fr\/fr\/12268158\/germain_delavigne\/\">Louis Marie Germain <strong>DE LA VIGNE of DELAVIGNE<\/strong> (1790-1868<\/a>) . Dit werk was het uitgangspunt voor de Belgische revolutie. Het beschrijft op het toneel een opstand die in de 17e eeuw in Portici bij Napels werd geleid tegen de Spaanse overheersing. Ook het Belgische volk kende deze situatie in die tijd. In akte 3 na sc\u00e8ne 4, gespeeld door de tenor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lamonnaiebelge.be\/inspiration\/le-blog-de-maarten\/154-muette-de-portici\">Jean Fran\u00e7ois <strong>LAFEUILLADE<\/strong><\/a> riep hij \"Te wapen, te wapen! Het enthousiaste publiek stond op en zong \"Nationaal, nationaal! \" . Binnen enkele dagen ontstond er totale anarchie. Brussel werd geplunderd en in brand gestoken. De inwoners van de verschillende gewesten\u00a0<span style=\"text-align: left; color: #333333; text-transform: none; text-indent: 0px; letter-spacing: normal; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; text-decoration: none; word-spacing: 0px; display: inline !important; white-space: normal; cursor: text; orphans: 2; float: none; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: transparent;\">wordt georganiseerd<\/span>nt.
